hi, i’m José
also known as ‘Joos’ and i’m the designer behind joos prints and patterns. after my studies in fashion design at the willem de kooning academy in rotterdam i worked as a graphic designer at an advertising agency. but my love for print design never faded and in 2015 i decided to quit my job and start my own design studio. I followed a specialising studies in pattern design at vogue academy in amsterdam and started my design studio in Nijmegen. life happened and in 2019 i decided to take a break form being an entrepeneur. but You guessed it.. my love for pattern design still never faded and currently my studio is based in rosmalen.
nature serves as my main source of inspiration, which, in together with my background in graphic design, has led to joos’s signature prints of flowing yet abstract forms. all patterns are first painted and/or drawn by hand and subsequently digitally processed into their unique design. most assignments are for large scale interior design projects and i work a lot with architects and interior designers.
