The ‘don’t cell yourself short’ -pun intended- pattern is hand drawn and it’s inspiration lies in human cells. After being confronted earlier this year with a serious illness in someone close to me, i was shocked but also intrigued about how the human body recovers itself after being completely broken down. I started researching how human cells react, interact, die or change during the process. The background of the cells consists gradients of a natural green colour made from tiny dots.
The pattern is printed on a soft wool fabric and each scarf is printed separately, on demand by a young and fast-growing Dutch company. The entire production process takes place in The Netherlands to support other local merchants. The scarf is 130 x 100 cm (when not folded) and the retail price is € 89,95 incl. VAT.
